Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola has admitted that. One of the reasons he signed a new contract was to save face after four straight losses in all competitions and to prove. That he is not a declining manager football.

According to Sky Sports, Guardiola has signed a new contract with City until June 2027. Replacing his previous one which expired at the end of this season. The contract is guaranteed for one year + one year option for the second season  UFABET

This is a way to clear up his own future and the club’s direction from now on. So that the players can plan their lives properly. Do they still want to continue playing at the Etihad Stadium? As for the Spanish coach, he wants to restore his honor. Because he has never lost 4 consecutive matches as a head coach in his life.

He told City TV:

“I feel like I can’t leave the team now.”

“Don’t ask me why. Maybe it’s because we lost 4 games in a row. And I don’t feel like we can part like that.”

“I felt that the club still wanted us, or to be honest. We still wanted each other. So that was the reason for choosing to extend the contract.”

“We’ve achieved a lot, but you can’t survive 11 years without love.”

“Here, the football business is on your back. You have to win and have contracts. But I also know that if you don’t win anything, you won’t be able to continue.”

“At that point, I would have felt that was enough. The club would have known – but not yet.”

“I enjoy being here. I like my job. And I like being the manager of this club.”

“I said it many times many years ago.”

“If there comes a time when I don’t feel anything. Even if I’m still under contract. I will call the club president, call the CEO and tell them to choose the best way for the team immediately. I have to go.”

“I don’t feel that way right now, and that’s why I extended my contract a bit longer.”

Guardiola has managed Manchester City for over 490 games. Just one short of the all-time top scorer, Les McDowell.
