A DNA study of the “world’s oldest person” has revealed the key to her longevity. Maria Branyas Moreira died in August 2024 at the age of 117. Almost 8 months after her death, the “secret” of her long life has been revealed.

Researchers from the University of Barcelona studied the deceased’s microbiome and DNA and found. That they had a “child’s microbiome” and a “privileged genome.” Manel Esteller, a genetics professor at the university, said these special genes reduced her biological age by around 17 years.

Rosa Moret, the late father’s daughter, once said that her mother had lived a long เล่น UFABET ผ่านมือถือ สะดวกทุกที่ ทุกเวลา life without ever being sick, and had memories of World War I and the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). She had only lost her sight, memory and hearing when she died.

The team also discovered that Maria had good cholesterol levels, “excellent” blood sugar control, and a “perfectly balanced” immune system. This is believed to be due to eating three cups of yogurt a day,  along with not drinking alcohol or smoking, which are factors that contributed to her long life.
